Job Shift: 1st ShiftThe Groundskeeper I is responsible for maintaining the facility and its surrounding areas in clean, safe, and orderly condition. This includes performing routine cleaning, minor repairs, snow removal, and assisting with maintenance projects as directed. The position requires the use of various hand and power tools and coordination with internal departments, vendors, and contractors. The Groundskeeper I plays an essential role in supporting the overall upkeep and appearance of the plant, ensuring compliance with safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain buildings and grounds in top condition, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and compliance with company standards.
- Perform general facility maintenance such as painting, repairing walls, replacing lights, and fixing leaks.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Serve as a contact point for building repair needs, outside vendors, and contractors on special projects.
- Maintain and ensure the waste rooms, dumpster areas, and other external spaces are clean and orderly.
- Read and follow chemical labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) accurately.
- Transport trash and waste to disposal areas using pallet jacks or forklifts as needed.
- Maintain and update plant signage throughout the grounds and buildings.
- Respond to and correct any facility-related issues identified during internal and external GMP audits.
- Perform landscaping tasks and snow removal, including salting walkways and access roads during winter months.
Conduct regular inspections (weekly, monthly, quarterly) on fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, emergency lighting, ladders, AEDs, door functionality and related equipment.

QualificationsEducation and

Experience:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Prior experience in facility maintenance or custodial work preferred.
- Must be able to be certified to operate a pallet jack, forklift, and high lift.
- Experience using basic hand tools and maintenance equipment.
- Basic computer and recordkeeping skills required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach with hands and arms.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to operate and move machinery and tools safely.
- Ability to exchange accurate information in a loud or busy environment.
- Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and outdoor weather conditions.
- Must be able to work in hot, cold, or fluctuating temperature environments.

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:
- Work performed both indoors and outdoors in a variety of environmental conditions.
- Exposure to moderate noise levels from machinery and equipment.
- May be required to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays based on operational needs.
- Frequent contact with cleaning chemicals, maintenance tools, and powered equipment.
- Safety shoes (required).
- Gloves, hearing protection, and safety glasses as needed.
- High-visibility vest or clothing when operating equipment outdoors.
- Additional PPE provided as required by OSHA and company safety standards.

NOTE: This role will require extended hours based on production needs, including work to be performed after regular business hours and on weekends.
