
Groundskeeper - Full Time
Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm
PATIENT POPULATION:
The patient population served can be all patients, including geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and newborn. This also includes services which affect facility staff, physicians, visitors, vendors and the general public.
Under supervision of the Lead Groundskeeper, the Groundskeeper is responsible to do gardening and general grounds maintenance work.
Must be able to work normal/scheduled working hours to include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours. As a designated disaster service worker you are required to assist in times of need pursuant to the California Emergency Services Act.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:
The employee must maintain a valid CA driver's license and current DMV report, the results of which are within acceptable standards as per SVMC policy as a condition of employment. The employee will also be required, as a condition of employment, to enroll in the DMV Pull Notice Program to allow the Hospital to receive notice of any changes in their driving record. The employee must maintain at least state required limits of liability insurance/evidence of financial responsibility on own vehicles (such limits may not be adequate and he/she should consider higher limits for their own protection).
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

1 * Plants, cultivates, waters and sprays ornamental plants, shrubs, hedges, trees and flowers, and propagates cuttings.
2 * Plants and cares for lawns.
3 * Rakes leaves, hoes weeds, and performs general grounds maintenance work.
4 * Prepares and treats soils for planting, spades and fertilizes flowerbeds and sets out plants.
5 * Keeps grounds clean and orderly.
6 * Maintains hoses, tools, supplies, and equipment in proper condition and repair.
7 * Trims trees, hedges, and shrubs and erects tree supports.
8 Does general laboring tasks related to grounds and garden maintenance work.
9 * Documentation reflects compliance with established Hospital policies and procedures.
10 Must be able to read and understand Chemical Material Safety Data Sheets.
11 * Must possess a valid California driver's license.
12 * Be in attendance on site and arrive to work on time.
