Job Description

This is a full time, 40 hour per week position that requires work on weekends. Daytime hours or as needed.

Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Maintains a variety of spaces on the Hospital campus with an objective to provide a safe, clean, and pleasing environment. Essential Functions:

  • Performs a variety of landscape and groundskeeping tasks while observing pertinent safety regulations and policies.
  • Operates and maintains power equipment such as lawn mowers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, and street sweepers.
  • Removes litter and debris from grounds and empties trash receptacles.
  • Maintains and repairs walkways, fences, and other outdoor structures. Reports for ice and snow removal and is accountable for clearing primary areas.
  • Performs first level maintenance on gasoline and diesel equipment. Checks oil, lubricates, and makes minor repairs.
  • Proactive in identifying problem areas in the landscape, recommending viable solutions and carrying out steps to resolve issues.


Education Requirement:

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.


Licensure Requirement:

Certifications:

  • Ohio Nurserymen Landscape Installer Certification, preferred.
  • Certification from a trade program, preferred.
  • Miscellaneous installation/repair certifications from vendors, preferred.

Six months of job related experience and some knowledge of grounds maintenance operations, required.
