The Florida Operations Groundskeeper is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of baseball fields at Pirate City and LECOM Park.

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain all field areas per the direction of the Grounds Manager, including the turf, pitchers’ mounds, bases and chalk lines.
  2. Maintain and repair irrigation and drainage system as needed.
  3. Inspect Machinery before and after use and keep in workable condition.
  4. Repair equipment as needed and report all repairs and broken equipment to the Grounds Manager immediately.
  5. Be proactive in maintaining a safe environment at LECOM Park and at Pirate City Complex for all residents and visitors.
  6. Adhere to maintenance procedures that ensure all equipment is operating as it should.
  7. Assist with game day and event preparation including baseball fields, batting practice, pre-game set up and break down, post-game cleanup and non-baseball-related events.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • A minimum of 18 years of age.
  • 1-3 years prior experience working in groundskeeping, lawn maintenance or athletic field maintenance.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Desired:

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior baseball field maintenance experience.
