Job Description

The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of grounds across various facilities. This position performs routine landscaping, grounds care, and supports emergency response needs to ensure public safety.

Essential Duties:

• Grounds Maintenance & Landscaping
• Maintains the appearance of grounds for various facilities.
• Cuts grass and repairs damaged lawns.
• Prunes trees and shrubs.
• Applies horticultural chemicals.
• Cleans hard surfaces and playgrounds.
• Mows lawns, trims trees and shrubs, removes debris, rakes leaves, and edges walkways.
• Prepares and plants landscape beds and planters.
• Seeds lawns, cares for plants, removes insects, and picks up litter.

Public Safety & Emergency Response:

• Secures areas for public safety in emergencies.
• Cleans streets and walkways.
• Moves trash cans and loose pots.
• Removes branches, bushes, and refuse from grounds.
• Assists emergency personnel.
• Remains on call to respond to emergencies.

Equipment Operation & Maintenance:

• Operates and maintains vehicles and equipment required for grounds work.

Requirements:

• Must have at least 1 year of previous groundskeeping/landscaping experience
