Job Description

This is a Temporary Position - lasting approximately 3 months

Monday - Friday 7am to 3:30pm

Responsible for landscaping and grounds maintenance services for the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Responsible for the upkeep of facility grounds. Ensures landscaping is uniform with a satisfactory appearance.
  • Possesses vast knowledge of turf management, irrigation systems and maintenance, herbicides/pesticides.
  • Follows established schedules for trimming/pruning, fertilizing, mowing the lawn, planting, etc.
  • Operates all equipment/tools correctly and safely.
  • Performs routine maintenance on equipment/tools; maintenance is documented.
  • Follows all safety regulations: wears safety apparel when working, i.e., safety glasses, appropriate shoes.
  • Ability to calculate amount of materials needed for landscaping projects.
  • Designs landscape projects; able to read blueprints.
  • Repairs broken fences/posts as needed.
  • Ensures all outside walk ways are clear of debris, snow and ice.
  • Maintains all facility roadways/drives.
  • Maintains stock levels of materials and parts within budgetary constraints.
  • Ensures work sites are left clean and tools and equipment are returned to storage.
  • Stays current with new landscaping techniques, supplies and equipment.
  • Assist Maintenance Department in all aspects of work including but not limited to, preventative maintenance, daily/monthly/quarterly checks, work orders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Actively checks and responds to emails at least once per shift.
  • Completes all mandatory education within given timeframe.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Wears identification while on duty; uses computerized punch time system correctly.
  • Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner in the community.
  • Attends annual review and department in-services as scheduled.
  • Attends at least 75% of staff meetings; reviews all monthly staff meeting minutes.
  • Actively participates in the department’s quality improvement (QI) activities.
  • Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices and the employee handbook.
  • Communicates the mission, vision and values of the organization as well as the focus of the department.
  • Meets dress code standards for the department; appearance is neat and clean.
  • All Ferry County Health employees are required to maintain confidentiality in accordance with organizational policy, state and federal regulations, including not but limited to, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

JOB KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in emergency management, safety, facilities, landscaping or healthcare support roles preferred.
  • Familiarity with CMS Appendix Z, DOH requirements, WAC 246-320, NFPA, OSHA, and EPA standards.
  • Experience assisting with multi-departmental projects or cross-agency coordination.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to compile reports and support compliance activities without direct supervisory responsibilities.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
