Brightpoint Community College invites applications for the position of Grounds Team MemberThis position performs work related to college grounds and landscaping to help provide and maintain a safe, comfortable, and visually appealing campus environment that supports teaching and learning.

Primary responsibilities include grounds maintenance and landscaping; operation and maintenance of equipment; upkeep of natural areas, parking lots, sidewalks, and exterior signage; and assistance with classroom and office setups as well as mail deliveries.

This position is designated as Essential Personnel.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.


KSA's/Required Qualifications
Required
  • Knowledge of grounds maintenance principles, materials, equipment operation and repair, landscaping, horticulture, turf management, and workplace health and safety practices
  • Proficiency in operating a personal computer
  • Knowledge of OSHA workplace safety standards
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods of time
  • Ability to report to work as “essential” personnel within one hour of being called into work after hours and on holidays
  • Successful completion and passing of a background check.
