Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Monmouthshire to assist with the appointment of a Grounds Operative, on a 2-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay £13.26 - £17.15 per hour

The Commercial Grounds Maintenance Operative will support the Grounds and Cleansing Section in delivering high-quality grounds maintenance and environmental services across Monmouthshire. The role involves maintaining public open spaces, schools, sports facilities, and contracted sites, ensuring a safe, clean, and sustainable environment for residents, businesses, and visitors.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out grass cutting activities using hand-held and ride-on machinery.
  • Maintain public open spaces, schools, verges, planting areas, and contracted sites.
  • Undertake horticultural maintenance including shrub beds and seasonal bedding displays.
  • Assist with landscaping projects and arboricultural works.
  • Mark out and maintain sports pitches and recreational facilities.
  • Empty litter bins and undertake litter picking duties across public areas

Essentials

  • Full UK driving licence (ability to tow up to 3.5 tonnes desirable).
  • Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, horticulture, or a similar outdoor working environment.
  • Ability to work safely and follow health and safety procedures.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work and maintaining public spaces to a high standard.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
