Job Description

Nestled amongst the towering timber of the beautiful Wooditjup National Park, RAC Margaret River Nature Park is located just 2.5km north of Margaret River town centre and only 8km from the beach.

Our unique eco-tourism park offers guests an unforgettable nature-based experience surrounded by some of Western Australia’s most spectacular scenery.

We are currently seeking a friendly and reliable Grounds & Maintenance Officer to join our team on a casual basis, commencing mid-August. We are ideally looking for someone available for a 9–12-month commitment (minimum 6 months considered), with the potential to extend for the right person.

Accommodation is available on-site, with either a caravan provided or a powered site for your own accommodation (nominal fee applies).

What will you be doing?

As a key member of our team, you’ll help keep the park running smoothly while ensuring our grounds, facilities and accommodation are maintained to a high standard.

Your duties will include:

  • General gardening, groundskeeping and landscaping duties

  • Repairs and maintenance across cabins, caravan & camping grounds, amenities and public areas

  • Operating tractors and maintenance equipment

  • General handyperson and basic mechanical tasks

  • Cleaning BBQs, emptying bins and conducting pre-arrival site inspections

  • Performing regular checks on park equipment and reporting maintenance issues

  • Assisting guests with requests and providing excellent customer service

  • Maintaining a safe working environment and following WHS procedures

  • Being on call overnight when required (approximately 2 nights per week)

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone practical, proactive and guest-focused who enjoys working outdoors and being part of a close-knit team.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience in groundskeeping, maintenance, landscaping, carpentry or caravan parks

  • Ability to operate a tractor and general maintenance equipment

  • Basic mechanical and handyperson skills

  • Trade qualifications highly regarded

  • Strong understanding of Workplace Health & Safety procedures

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays when required

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a positive attitude

  • A current manual driver’s licence

  • Ability to obtain a Police Check (covered by RAC)
