We are seeking a Seasonal Groundskeeper who can commit to working a minimum of 8 months (April through November), up to 40 hours per week This position is considered seasonal status
What You’ll Do
As part of our Grounds team, you’ll help ensure our campus remains safe, attractive, and well-maintained.
Responsibilities include:
Weeding, mowing, watering, trimming, digging, and planting
Planting, cultivating, pruning, fertilizing, and irrigating flowers, shrubs, trees, hedges, and lawns
Assisting with soil preparation and pest/plant disease control
Operating grounds maintenance equipment including tractors, mowers, trucks, chippers, stump grinders, forklifts, hedge trimmers, edgers, chain saws, and other hand/power tools
Inspecting equipment to ensure safe operation
Maintaining grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition
Communicating effectively with supervisors, team members, and residents
Coordinating equipment use and maintenance with other grounds staff
Working independently on assigned projects as needed
Potential on-call availability for snow removal during winter months
What We’re Looking For
No prior experience required — a strong willingness to learn is essential
Valid driver’s license
State work permit (if required)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication skills and professionalism when interacting with residents
Commitment to safety procedures and proper equipment operation
Ability to meet schedules and timelines
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to lift up to 45 lbs occasionally and 30 lbs frequently
Perform physically demanding work including bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, standing, and walking for extended periods
Work outdoors in varying and sometimes extreme weather conditions
Exposure to equipment noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, and moving machinery
Must follow universal precautions and safety standards
