Essential Duties
- Take direction from Grounds Crew Lead and accurately complete all assigned work in a timely manner.
- Promote good relations and display a positive image with customers, the public, and peers.
- Complete and submit all paperwork as required.
- Maintain the proper parts inventory on the district vehicle to meet the majority of assigned maintenance work requests.
- Take proper care of, and maintain, district vehicles, tools, and equipment necessary to perform the responsibilities of the position, as well as to ensure maximum usage.
- Plan, stage, and complete the cleaning, inspection, maintenance, and installation of all types of equipment assigned to the trade.
- Initiate and complete assigned projects in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner.
- Immediately report any issues that may have an impact on school or employee safety.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must possess the qualifications required to hold an MI or MII classification; 0-5 years of applicable and verifiable work experience in grounds maintenance.
- High school diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE), preferred for MI, and required for MII classifications.
- Must hold a valid State of Georgia driver’s license with no more than eight (8) points against the license over the last seven years.
- Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
- Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
- Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
- Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
- Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, kneeling, and sitting.
- Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 75 pounds, and negotiating stairs and ladders.
- Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
