We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Ground Worker to join our team in Gloucester and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to site preparation, landscaping, and general labour. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient operation of construction and maintenance projects. The Ground Worker will work under the supervision of foremen or site managers and collaborate closely with other team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out general groundwork and external maintenance to tenanted and void properties.
  • Carry out essential groundwork tasks to ensure properties and communal areas are safe, accessible, and maintained to a high standard.
  • Perform tasks including paving, slabbing, fencing, drainage repairs, concrete works, and brick work repairs/repointing.
  • Conduct minor excavations and reinstatements to repair footpaths, driveways, and boundary walls.
  • Support emergency repairs such as attending to drainage blockages or trip hazards in communal areas.
  • Work safely around tenants and members of the public, ensuring minimal disruption.
  • Ensure all work complies with current health and safety regulations and internal policies.
  • Complete job records, risk assessments, and material requisitions accurately.
  • Liaise effectively with tenants, supervisors, and colleagues to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Attend toolbox talks and training relevant to the role and sector.

You will need:

  • Proven experience in groundwork, preferably within housing or a similar customer-facing environment.
  • Advantageous to have experience around installing new fencing.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Experience with paving, fencing, drainage systems, and concrete laying.
  • Awareness of safeguarding and working in occupied homes.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
