Come join our team! Mobius has an exciting position as an Intermediate-level Ground Test Engineer. In this role you are directly supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Directorate for Ground Test (MDA/DTG) in all aspects of Missile Defense System (MDS) ground test planning and execution. Mobius provides professional engineering and analysis expertise supporting various government agencies to solve some of the nation’s most challenging problems. We are at the leading edge of technology supporting advanced missile defense system testing, engineering, analysis and wargames/exercises. This position will support ground test planning and execution for a variety of Missile Defense System (MDS) test events. These events are typically classified at DoD secret or higher and involve Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) laboratories and operational MDS assets located at geographic sites worldwide. This position is located in Huntsville, AL.

Duties of a Ground Test Engineer may include:

  • Participate in all aspects of planning, coordination and execution activities for complex Missile Defense System (MDS) ground tests
  • Support ground test planning activities, resolve technical and planning issues, develop and monitor ground test planning/execution schedules across MDA’s various elements and external stakeholders
  • Support multiple efforts simultaneously, working independently or with a team
  • Provide input and assist the ground test team to Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies and coordinate strategy implementation to resolve issues arising during test planning, integration, execution, and analysis processes
  • Establish priorities and manage activities in accordance with approved Test issuances (e.g., CONOPS), develop test event documentation (e.g. test plans, event object worksheets, test architecture configuration) and lead change management activities throughout the ground test event planning process
  • Develop and present working-level technical briefings as well as executive / senior level briefings
  • Document/track event watch items/issues from discovery to closure and ensure appropriate mitigations are in place
  • Develop, submit, and track test observations and lessons learned for assigned events
  • May lead weekly Integration Event Test Team (IETT) planning meetings to include building and maintaining distribution lists, calendar invitations, and scheduling appropriate facilities/conference room
  • Review/develop test execution end of day situation reports and submit all DTG test products to the Missile Defense Agency Data Distribution Center

Qualifications

  • Capable of providing test engineering support on MDS systems, system elements, interfacing systems, components, devices and/or processes for developmental and operational weapon system programs during developmental and operational test events, particularly in HWIL environments
  • Capable of working as a member of team to assist with solving complex engineering, test planning, integration, execution, and analysis problems
  • Able to communicate effectively across multiple internal and external organizations, verbally, electronically, and in writing
  • Knowledge of MDS components and system-level topics highly desired
  • Experience with DoD test processes and/or test execution highly desired

Education

  • BS degree in an engineering field with 7 years of professional experience

Clearance

  • Secret or higher
