Job Description

Location: [Northeast / Multi-Site]

Department: GSE Division

Reports To: GSE Senior Leadership

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Subject to emergency call-in. Approximately 25% travel required across the network.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

TDA's ground service equipment is the backbone of every ramp and cargo operation we run. As the GSE Regional Manager, you are the leader responsible for keeping that backbone strong across the entire network. You will provide strategic direction and operational oversight for all GSE activities at your assigned locations, set the standard for safety, reliability, and efficiency, and serve as the central point of contact for the GSE Division's support functions.

This is a senior, multi-site leadership role that combines deep technical expertise with strong people management and cross-functional collaboration. You will manage GSE technicians, interface with gateway and station leadership, analyze performance data, and drive continuous improvement across the fleet. If you are a technically skilled, highly motivated leader who takes pride in keeping equipment — and teams — running at their best, we want to hear from you.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Network & Location Operations

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of GSE operations across the TDA network and within your directly assigned locations.
  • Ensure all GSE operations comply with applicable safety regulations, company standards, and customer expectations at every location.
  • Develop and monitor gateway GSE spare parts inventory; ensure all locations are equipped with the tools and parts necessary for both normal and contingency operations.
  • Respond to and manage equipment emergencies and unplanned operational disruptions across the network.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of GSE technicians to maintain a skilled, safety-focused, and high-performing workforce.
  • Recruit, onboard, and train GSE personnel in accordance with TDA standards and operational requirements.
  • Lead monthly meetings with the GSE team to address operational matters, safety topics, and performance updates.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development across all GSE locations.

Performance, Reporting & Compliance

  • Develop, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for GSE operations across the network.
  • Analyze data relating to GSE performance, maintenance schedules, fleet reliability, and team KPIs; identify trends and drive corrective action.
  • Provide regular, accurate reports to senior management on GSE operations, performance metrics, and network status.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, gateway and station leadership, and headquarters support personnel to align GSE operations with broader company goals.
  • Complete all required training.
  • Only complete tasks for which you are fully trained.
  • Report any safety hazard or incident immediately to GSE senior leadership.
  • Other duties as identified by senior leadership.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 4 years of verified GSE mechanical experience, or 5 years of heavy mechanical experience in a comparable environment.
  • Thorough working knowledge of diesel and gas engines, various transmissions, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic ability across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Extensive ramp or cargo operational experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills; confident and credible with both frontline teams and senior leadership.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be flexible, self-motivated, and determined to succeed in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends; subject to emergency call-in.
  • Must be able to fulfill the requirements to obtain a SIDA (Secure Identification Display Area) badge and successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in aviation maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field.

  • Prior multi-site or regional management experience in GSE, fleet maintenance, or aviation ground operations.
  • Experience with GSE maintenance tracking or fleet management software.
  • Familiarity with FAA, TSA, and airline GSE compliance requirements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a multi-site field and office role. Regular travel to TDA gateway and station locations is required. Work is performed both indoors in GSE shops and maintenance facilities, and outdoors on active airport ramps and cargo yards. Subject to exposure to extreme weather conditions, aircraft noise, fuel vapors, hydraulic fluids, and moving equipment. Personal protective equipment is required and provided when working in operational areas.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to navigate airport ramp, cargo yard, and GSE shop environments safely, including working around active equipment and vehicles.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.

About Trego-Dugan Aviation Inc

Family. Matters.

Trego-Dugan has been in the aviation service business for the past 50 years. Initially, as a single FBO with 8 employees to the present day family of aviation companies and services, Trego-Dugan employs over 2600 dedicated team members in numerous aviation disciplines nation-wide and is still growing strong!

Trego Aviation, Inc. was founded by Gary M. Trego in 1970 as a family owned and managed FBO, flight school, charter operation and aircraft maintenance facility. Gary, along with his wife Terry, successfully led the company for 24 years with business vision, a midwest work ethic and unparalleled integrity.

In the early 90s, Gary’s Son-in-Law, Vincent Dugan and daughter, Traci joined the company which became Trego-Dugan Aviation. More years ago than she cares to admit and thanks to Gary, Traci soloed before she earned her driver’s license. She is now the Director of Operations for Trego-Dugan Aviation Charter. Vincent is an aviation attorney and a pilot. Vince leads all of Trego-Dugan's business segments and is General Counsel.

In the mid 90s, Trego-Dugan flight operations expanded into jet management services. With revenues more than tripling and a strong growth in jet management services, another FBO location was added in 2003. Then, in 2005, TDA expanded again and added international turbo-jet charter operations. In 2008, Airline Ground Handling was added to the company services offerings and has since been the fastest growing segment in the Trego-Dugan family of companies.

Still family owned and going strong, Trego-Dugan delivers business vision, a midwest work ethic and unparalleled integrity.
