Ground Segment Maintenance & Governance Engineer

We are looking for a Ground Segment Maintenance & Governance Engineer to join the Galileo programme. In this role, you will play a key part in the coordination and evolution of the tools that support asset management, configuration control, and the security of the system’s ground infrastructure.

You will work in an international and multidisciplinary environment, collaborating closely with engineering, operations, and cybersecurity teams, as well as with leading organizations such as ESA and EUSPA. You will be involved in change management activities, anomaly monitoring, maintenance and deployment coordination, contributing to the reliability and continuous improvement of critical services supporting Europe’s satellite navigation system.

WHAT CHALLENGE WILL YOU BE TAKING ON?

You will be part of the team responsible for the operation and maintenance of the AMT and VMT tools within the Galileo Ground Segment. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Leading and coordinating internal Non-Conformance Review Boards (NRBs), as well as supporting customer-facing Anomaly Review Boards (ARBs).
• Preparing meeting agendas, minutes, action tracking reports, and service management reports.
• Monitoring and following up on anomalies, maintenance activities, and corrective and preventive actions.
• Managing Change Control Requests (CCRs) and preparing the associated deployment and release documentation.
• Coordinating software releases and operational data extraction and analysis activities.
• Collaborating closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, cybersecurity, and customer teams.
• Ensuring compliance with established configuration management, maintenance, and operational procedures.
• Driving the continuous improvement of AMT/VMT services and their associated governance processes.

WHAT DO WE NEED IN OUR TEAM?

For this position, we are looking for a highly organized and service-oriented professional who is eager to develop their career in a critical and highly technological environment within the Galileo programme.

• Experience in maintenance management, service management, operational support, or change management environments.
• Experience coordinating review boards and decision-making forums (NRB, ARB, CCB, or equivalent), including action tracking and stakeholder management.
• Strong understanding of Change Management, Configuration Management, release management, and deployment processes.
• Knowledge of asset and vulnerability management concepts, including asset inventory management, software baselines, vulnerability tracking, and remediation planning.
• Basic cybersecurity knowledge, including vulnerability management, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), security governance, configuration control, and operational security principles.
• Experience preparing technical documentation, anomaly and maintenance reports, Change Control Requests (CCRs), and customer-facing deliverables.
• Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

In addition, previous experience in space programmes or critical infrastructure projects, particularly within the Galileo ecosystem, will be considered a strong asset, as well as knowledge of cybersecurity, vulnerability management, system administration, and service management tools.
