We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southern Housing to assist with the appointment of a Ground Maintenance Operative, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £14.10 - £18.25 per hour

Summary:

An Estate Services Operative is required to support the local Estate Services Manager in maintaining clean, safe and well-presented communal areas across residential estates. The role will involve carrying out a range of minor internal and external property repairs, supporting cleaning and gardening teams, and responding to residents' needs. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable undertaking physically demanding work and working both independently and as part of a team.

Tools, machinery, uniform, safety boots and personal protective equipment will be provided.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain communal areas to a high standard through sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, polishing and litter picking.
• Sweep, disinfect and maintain refuse chutes, bins and bin areas.
• Use equipment such as jet washers and steam cleaners for deep cleaning, with training provided where required.
• Carry out basic, semi-skilled minor repairs in communal areas and residents’ homes.
• Undertake minor joinery, non-qualified plumbing tasks, internal painting, graffiti removal and lock changes.

Essentials:

• Good practical skills with the ability to undertake a range of minor building and domestic repairs.
• Ability to undertake physically demanding work.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, contractors and team members.

• You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
• You should have right to work in U.K
• This role requires a Standard DBS
