We are looking for a part-time Grooming Assistant to join our team! Unleashed is a full-service boarding and grooming facility that is staffed 24/7!
This is a part-time position. Hours are 7am - 12pm Monday through Friday
KEY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Grooming Support
- Bathes pets thoroughly using proper shampoos and techniques based on coat type and skin needs
- Fully dries pets using appropriate drying methods (kennel dryers, velocity dryers, )
while ensuring pet safety and comfort
- Brushes out coats before and after bathing to prevent matting and ensure quality grooming results
- Performs basic grooming services such as:
- Nail trims (if trained)
- Ear cleaning
- Anal gland expression (if applicable)
- Prepares pets for groomers by ensuring they are clean, dry, and ready for finishing services
- Always maintains control and safety of pets during the grooming process
- Monitors pets for signs of stress, illness, or discomfort and reports concerns immediately
Basic Animal Care
- Ensures pets have access to fresh water and are comfortable while in the grooming or holding area
- Monitors pets before and after grooming for any changes in behavior or health
- Assists with safe handling and movement of pets throughout the facility
- Communicates clearly with groomers and team members regarding pet needs or concerns
- Provides gentle, calm handling to reduce stress and create a positive experience
Daily Chores
- Cleans and sanitizes bathing tubs after each use
- Refills shampoos, conditioners, and grooming supplies as needed
- Maintains organization of grooming tools, towels, and work areas
- Assists with laundry (towels, bedding, grooming materials) throughout the day
- Helps ensure grooming areas are fully stocked and ready for daily operations
EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:
- Kennel: 1 year (Preferred)
- Veterinary assistant: 1 year (Preferred)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; stand up for long periods of time throughout a shift
- Ability to multitask a heavy caseload
- Must have phone etiquette and customer service qualities
