As a Groomer at Pet Supplies Plus, you build personal relationships with your clients each time they visit, learn the pets' styles and personalities to create a customized, stylish experience for them.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide grooming services, like brushing, bathing, and conditioning.
  • Grooming and styling pets per owners’ instruction and/or according to breed standards.
  • Always ensuring the wellness and safety of pet.
  • Developing long-term relationships with pet parents by understanding their needs and recommending products and services that will keep their pet healthy and happy.
  • Community outreach to attract new neighbors into our store.
  • Successfully completing Safety Training certification.
  • Performing routine cleaning to keep the grooming environment fun and inviting.
  • Assisting store team members during grooming downtime.
  • Follows all store and department policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

KEY ATTRIBUTES

  • Genuinely enjoys taking care of the customer
  • 1 year grooming experience with formal training certificate and/or experience under an established certified groomer
  • 1 year of experiences in retail or other service industry where they’ve provided top notch service
  • Good with animals
  • Self-motivated
  • High energy level
  • Reliable/dependable

RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT

  • Slip resistant shoes with closed toe and heel
  • Safety Cutter
  • Apron
  • Uniform per store policy

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Basic math concepts (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication)

It was 1917 when Ferd Niemann, Sr. and Steve Niemann opened their first grocery store. It took a lot of hard work and progressive thinking, but they succeeded. By 1930, they were operating 10 corner grocery stores and a thriving wholesale business. In 1940 Niemann Foods, Inc. introduced the first full service supermarket to Quincy, Illinois.
