Grocery Manager

Are you ready to take the next step in your retail career and play a key role in driving the performance of a large Grocery Department including General Merchandise.

New World Lincoln is looking for a motivated and organised Grocery Manager to join our team. This is a hands-on role combining a strong focus on buying, stock management, supplier relationships and promotional execution, with a big focus on sales, gross profit and product availability.

You’ll work in conjunction with the wider Dry Goods team, while also spending time on the shop floor working alongside the team to keep the department running at a high standard. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both the commercial side of retail and being actively involved in the day-to-day operation of a fast -paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage ordering, stock levels and product availability across Grocery and GM
• Drive sales and gross profit performance through strong stock management and promotional execution
• Lead and contribute to the day-to-day operation and overall performance of the Grocery & GM departments
• Build strong supplier relationships and follow up on orders, pricing and stock issues
• Plan and execute seasonal promotions, displays and in-store activity
• Drive category reviews, relays and new line implementation
• Work alongside the floor operations manager and wider team on the shop floor to maintain high standards of presentation, stock availability, whilst delivering department goals and a great shopping experience

About You

• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Good understanding of stock control and inventory management
• Strong commercial awareness with a focus on sales, GP and availability
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Minimum of 2 years’ relevant supermarket or FMCG experience
• Strong computer skills and willingness to learn retail systems
• Confident communicator with a positive, team-focused attitude
• Comfortable working in a hands-on retail environment

This is a full-time role, with hours including early mornings and one weekend day. Days and hours will be discussed at interview.
