Overview of the Position:

The Grit Blaster performs abrasive blasting, peening, and aqueous cleaning operations in the overhaul and repair of the company's product. This position follows standard industry practices and practices safe work habits to ensure production is performed in an efficient and safe manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform abrasive blasting, peening, and aqueous cleaning operations in support of the overhaul and repair of company products in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
  • Follow process sequence sheets, travelers, routers, repair manuals, and quality assurance procedures to ensure compliance with customer, company, and FAA requirements.
  • Wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with all safety, environmental, and hazardous material handling procedures.
  • Verify the correct blast media, blasting pressure, and process parameters are selected and utilized for each operation.
  • Inspect grit blasting and cleaning equipment prior to use to ensure proper operation and report equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions to supervision.
  • Identify, document, and report any product, process, quality, or safety concerns to supervision in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all required inspection and measuring equipment is within calibration requirements before use.
  • Accurately complete required production and quality documentation, including signing travelers and recording labor hours on daily timesheets.
  • Move completed parts to the next operation in accordance with production requirements and established workflow processes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company housekeeping and safety standards.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and maintain compliance with company quality and operational standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Compensation:

The wage range for this position is $22.40 to $35.67 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including geographic location, skills, experience, education, certifications, internal equity, and business needs.

Qualifications

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education / Experience Requirements:

One or more year's industrial experience is preferred. Understanding basic mathematics. High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
