Job Description

Summary

The Grinder Operator position operates and monitors grinder and/or slicing equipment used in the processing of cooked meat products. This position is responsible for assembly of the grinder and/or slicer, maintaining machine controls, loading the grinder and/or slicer, grinder and slicing blade and gasket checks, ensuring tool accountability, and supporting efficient production operations. The employee works under the supervision and direction of the Processing Team Leader.

Essential Functions

1. Maintain tool accountability and proper storage of production tools.
2. Assembly of grinder and slicing equipment.
3. Setting and maintaining machine controls to ensure our products are within acceptable quality limits.
4. Loading cooked meat products into the grinder or slicer for further processing.
5. Conduct blade and gasket checks for grinder and slicing equipment.
6. Handle both hot and cold cooked meat products in a fast-paced environment.
7. Follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards.
8. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
9. Work flexible hours, overtime, and weekends as required.
10. Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Team Leader.

Work Environment

Fast-paced manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to refrigerated temperatures

Floors may be wet and slippery, and noise levels may be elevated due to production equipment.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

Ability to frequently lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Ability to stand for extended periods, including 2 to 3 hours at a time.

Ability to repetitively use hands, wrists, and arms during grinding/slicing operations.

Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, push, pull, and reach as required.

Position Type: Full-Time Position

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing or food production experience preferred.
• Ability to operate grinding and/or slicing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Good attendance and reliability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards.
