Summary: The Board Operator is responsible for operating the radio control board, monitoring broadcast quality, and ensuring smooth on-air execution of live and pre-recorded programming. This role plays a critical part in maintaining seamless radio broadcasts and ensuring that all content airs as scheduled.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate the control board and other broadcast equipment during live and recorded radio shows.
- Monitor audio levels, transitions, and overall sound quality to ensure a professional on-air presentation.
- Follow station format, guidelines, and policies for commercial breaks, promotions, and legal station identifications.
- Coordinate with show hosts, producers, and on-air talent to facilitate smooth program execution.
- Load and play pre-recorded segments, commercials, and music as scheduled.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to audio equipment and software.
- Ensure FCC compliance by adhering to all broadcast regulations and station policies.
- When needed, assist in setting up remote broadcasts and live events as needed.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned, including driving an automobile for company business
Job Schedule: This is a part-time position primarily working 5-10 hours per week (including weeknights and weekends). You may also be called upon at times to fill in other hours and days of the week to help cover vacations, illnesses, breaking news, severe weather, or special projects/events. This position is not eligible to work remotely.

Skills and Requirements:
- Associate degree or trade school equivalent in Radio Broadcasting, Mass Communications, or related field preferred. Related experience will be evaluated and may be substituted as years of experience.
- Previous experience in radio board operation, audio production, or broadcasting preferred.
- Familiarity with radio automation software (e.g., WideOrbit, or similar).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Knowledge of FCC rules and regulations is a plus.
- Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and have a driving record acceptable to the company.
- Ability to perform other job-related duties as assigned.
