Summary: The Director of National Sales is responsible for leading and managing the national sales efforts for Griffin Medias TV assets. This role focuses on developing and executing strategies to drive revenue growth from national advertisers and overseeing the work of the National Sales Coordinators. The Director of National Sales works closely with the Vice President of Sales to achieve revenue targets and enhance the company’s national market presence. You will coordinate statewide national sales efforts in accordance with company goals and objectives, including budgetary responsibility, and market-related research and analysis.

Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and recommend national sales strategies, negotiate rates and programs with national sales representatives and media buyers. Make presentations to media buyers and National Rep team. Market rates, packages, and sales promotions to national rep and clients that are consistent with sales department objectives.
- Target national accounts for sales development across all Griffin Media properties including TV, Outdoor, and Digital. Work with national rep on maintaining and updating target prospect list and include changes, additions, and deletions analysis. Service accounts by checking and expediting orders, satisfactorily resolving discrepancies, and scheduling make goods.
- Review all national sales orders received and credits. Participate in credit approval process. Monitor national accounts receivable. Make bad debt write off recommendations. Maintain past due of accounts receivable over 90 days at 10% or less.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with key clients and Locality offices throughout the country. Responsible for creating non-traditional revenue opportunities as well.
- Provide support, data, and recommendations on specific national business as well as overall direction of national sales effort.
- Lead and mentor the National Sales Coordinators, providing guidance and support to ensure effective execution of sales strategies and high performance.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Sales to align national sales initiatives with the company’s overall sales goals and objectives.
- Track and analyze national sales performance, using data to make informed decisions and refine sales strategies.
- Provide regular reports to the Vice President of Sales on sales results, team performance, and market trends.
- Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, digital sales, and production, to ensure cohesive execution of national sales campaigns and client service.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned, including driving an automobile for company business.
Job Schedule: This is a full-time position primarily working 40 hours per week. You may also be called upon at times to fill in other hours and days of the week to help cover vacations, illnesses, or special projects/events. This position is not eligible to work remotely.

Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field. Related experience will be evaluated and may be substituted as years of education.
- Five years of progressively responsible sales experience in Media and/or related business area.
- Knowledge of marketing concepts as they relate to broadcast sales/advertising. Ability to interpret and understand rating books.
- Ability to analyze, organize, and retrieve rate and competitive information to prepare reports and presentations.
- Effective oral and written communication skills as well as ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Computer skills that include a working knowledge of Microsoft Operating System (Word, Excel, etc.), as well as the ability to learn new systems.
- Proven planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and have a driving record acceptable to the company.
- Ability to perform other job-related duties as assigned.
