Within its electricity transmission and distribution activity (the EDP Networks Platform) it currently manages operations in Portugal, Spain, and Brazil

Technical Operations TechOps department is looking for a Grid Operations Systems Engineer.

What you will do:

    • Ensure technical leadership and continuous evolution of critical power grid operation platforms (SCADA, OMS, ADMS), guaranteeing alignment with business requirements, technological innovation, and industry best practices.
    • Ensure system availability, performance, and resilience through proactive monitoring and continuous analysis of operational indicators, safeguarding the continuity of essential services and support for real-time grid operations.
    • Manage and structure the technical debt backlog by identifying risks, impacts, and optimization opportunities, actively collaborating with the Product Owner in defining priorities and the evolutionary roadmap of the solutions.
    • Coordinate incident and problem management activities, ensuring their analysis, diagnosis, and swift resolution, with a focus on mitigating operational risks, eliminating vulnerabilities, and increasing system availability.
    • Promote effective coordination with suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring proper service management, compliance with SLAs/OLAs, and the structured resolution of complex incidents and problems.

    What are we looking for:

    • University degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field, with relevant professional experience being valued.
    • Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in the administration and operation of ADMS systems (SCADA and/or OMS);
    • Experience in configuring and managing databases associated with SCADA systems;
    • Programming experience in Python, applied to data processing or systems integration;
    • Knowledge of SQL;
    • Basic knowledge of the operation of Remote Terminal Units (RTUs);
    • Basic knowledge of monitoring, analysis, and control of grid management systems (DMS, SCADA, OMS, EMS, PAS), within the context of ADMS solutions.
    • Dynamic and proactive profile, with strong initiative and a problem-solving mindset;
    • Good teamwork and interpersonal skills;
    • Good knowledge of Portuguese and proficiency in technical English;
    • Availability for occasional travel within the country;
    • Availability to join an on-call duty scheme.
