Why This Role Matters

As a Host / Hostess, you are the face of the restaurant and the energy behind the guest experience. You create the first impression when guests arrive and the lasting impression when they leave. In a busy airport environment, travelers may be rushing to flights, stressed from delays, or simply looking for a welcoming place to relax and enjoy a meal. Your role is to create a smooth, organized, and positive dining experience while maintaining professionalism and hospitality at all times.

What You’ll Be Doing

Guest Service

  • Welcome every guest with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm.
  • Manage guest seating flow while maintaining fairness and efficiency.
  • Provide accurate wait times and communicate updates clearly to guests.
  • Answer guest questions regarding menu options, restaurant services, and directions.
  • Assist in creating a clean, friendly, and welcoming dining environment.
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Thank guests sincerely and encourage return visits.

Operations

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, lobby, and waiting areas.
  • Monitor table availability and communicate effectively with servers and leadership.
  • Assist with maintaining restaurant flow during peak business hours.
  • Support servers, bussers, and leadership with operational needs as needed.
  • Ensure menus, promotional signage, and dining materials are clean and presentable.
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and company operational procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of airport traffic flow and adjust seating priorities accordingly.

Team Support

  • Communicate effectively with team members to maintain smooth operations.
  • Support a positive team environment through professionalism and teamwork.
  • Assist leadership with guest recovery opportunities when needed.
  • Maintain a calm and solution-focused attitude during high-volume periods.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management to support restaurant success.

What We’re Looking For

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous customer service, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Friendly, outgoing, and guest-focused personality.
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and working in high-traffic areas.
  • Reliable attendance and professional appearance required.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
