We like plants, people, and beautiful spaces. John Mulhall came to Omaha in 1953 to landscape, and now, three generations later, we’re as committed as we’ve ever been to making Omaha a more beautiful place to live. Today, we’re a team of a few hundred people, but our focus remains the same: working together to engage our community and share our passion for the beauty of the natural world. And we have fun doing it.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
As the Greenhouse Lead, Herbs + Vegetables, you’ll report to our Greenhouse Manager and help manage the daily tasks, projects, and processes that keep the entire Greenhouse looking its best. You’ll be responsible for helping customers find the perfect plants, championing the importance of defined processes, and jumping in where needed to complete daily tasks and projects. During our peak season, you’ll be responsible for managing the flow of herb and vegetable deliveries from the receiving dock to the applicable backstock area as well as keeping the salesfloor fresh and full of product – all in line with our vision to be the most loved plant shop in the country.

- Model our Customer Journey: The 15:5 Rule, Be the Guide, Keep It Seamless, Forget-Me-Nots, and Close the Deal
- Make yourself a go-to person and a champion of training, follow-up, and delegation of tasks – for the whole Greenhouse and your focus area
- Minimize plant death through First-In-First-Out replenishment and the Edibles and Garden Supply replenishment process to fill from backstock
- Maintain brand integrity by ensuring the Garden Supplies area is signed to standard with price and plant information signs
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- A belief in and passion for our purpose – beautifying our community
- 2+ years of retail experience, preferred
- The ability to manage multiple, competing priorities with a consistently positive response to pressure
- The ability to bend and lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a variety of weather conditions
- A supportive team player who anticipates problems and works collaboratively to solve them
