Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Elmbridge to assist with the appointment of a Green Spaces Development Officer, on a 13-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay £153.94 - £202.76 per day

The Green Spaces Development Officer will play a key role in delivering high-quality green space improvements, contributing to making the borough a great place to live, work, and play. Working as part of the Green Spaces team, you will be responsible for delivering small capital projects, supporting the implementation of the Green Space service delivery plan, and engaging with communities and stakeholders to enhance local environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the delivery of small green space and play projects from design through to completion.
  • Apply project management principles to scope, plan, procure, and deliver projects in line with council objectives.
  • Ensure all projects comply with procurement regulations, health and safety standards, and financial procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, residents, community groups, and external partners to shape project proposals.
  • Manage tendering processes, including preparing contract documentation and evaluating submissions.
  • Monitor project budgets and resources, ensuring value for money and accountability to funders.

Essentials

  • Full driving licence and access to own transport.
  • Proven experience in delivering or supporting green space or similar infrastructure projects.
  • Strong project management experience within public or private sector environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and changing project requirements.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires a Basic DBS
