Under general supervision, the Graphic Designer I supports various graphic and publishing needs, including overall publication design and layout, as well as designing and editing graphics/photos for publications and other educational media.
Essential Responsibilities:
Designs professional and accessible print and electronic educational publications.
Maintains and organizes project documents such as revisions, approvals, drafts, and artwork.
Maintains project deadlines and utilizes designated project management software.
Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts as needed from creation to support.
Upholds expectations of multiple stakeholders throughout the life cycle of multiple projects simultaneously.
Experiments with emerging technologies to deliver content according to internal quality standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Graphics Design, Fine Arts, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
No prior experience required.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a related field, demonstrated skill in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, as well as experience creating accessible publications per current WCAG standards
Ideal candidates are critical thinkers who are self-motivated and possess self-management skills with the ability to follow through on all phases of projects independent of direct supervision.
Salary: Pay Grade 8. Compensation for this position is commensurate based on the selected candidate’s qualifications.
This is not a remote position, however, applications for Partially Remote and Flexible schedules are accepted after a 90-day performance review period for those who qualify.
