Role

You are responsible for leading the creative direction for graphic and infographic concepts across a wide range of visual content and programming (including communications, advertising and marketing campaigns). You will oversee the entire project life cycle — from planning and development to final implementation of concepts — while co-ordinating, assigning, reviewing and checking the work of contributors providing services for your projects.

Key Tasks:

  • Provide guidance to your clients and collaborators on design concepts, choices, art/visual direction, workflows and production methodologies.
  • Participate in production meetings to align on esthetic choices, budgetary frameworks and timelines.
  • Establish the creative vision for graphic and infographic concepts, ensuring all visual assets (whether still, animated or print) effectively support the overall program concept.
  • Present design concepts using mock-ups or storyboards, clearly articulating the value and benefits of each approach to clients.
  • Determine the most effective production methods within budget and schedule constraints. Plan and co-ordinate all phases of the production process. Execute or commission graphic and infographic concepts.
  • Gather and research the necessary visual materials and information required to execute approved graphic and infographic concepts for projects.
  • Plan, co-ordinate, assign, review and check the work of all contributors providing services for your projects.
  • Produce visual elements (including still, animated and print materials) that align with the approved creative direction.
  • Develop original design solutions that meet project requirements while navigating technical standards and constraints.
  • Direct the assembly of assets specifically designed to complement graphic and infographic concepts.
  • Manage the production process through to the final format, except when specific elements need to be inserted by the producer.
  • Develop and recommend design standards for graphic and infographic content to ensure visual consistency across all programs and materials.
  • Ensure quality control throughout the project life cycle.
  • Stay current with emerging trends in art, design and technology.
  • Participate in project reviews to assess progress and make corrections/adjustments or evaluate the success of completed initiatives.
  • Complete the appropriate forms and documents; share information verbally or in writing to ensure proper followup and to keep others informed.
  • Familiarize other employees with their duties and work environment.
  • Carry out, as needed, all or part of the duties of another job classification within an equivalent or lower salary group, as well as other related duties.

This is a hybrid role with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic communications, interactive multimedia design (graphic design) or a related field.
  • Five (5) years’ experience required to perform duties satisfactorily.

Shortlisted candidates will be tested as follows:
