Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. The Grants Fiscal Technician position provides financial support to the Senior Grants Accountant within the Grants Division of the Financial Operations Department. This role is responsible for assisting with the processing and monitoring of grant-related financial transactions, including the preparation and entry of corrective journal transactions, as well as the processing of specialized vendor and subrecipient payments. In addition, the Grants Fiscal Technician supports monthly grant reconciliations by researching and resolving outstanding procurement and payroll discrepancies to ensure the accuracy and integrity of grant financial records. The position also assists with the preparation and submission of reimbursement requests for Adult Education Grants, helping to ensure compliance with funding requirement and the timely recovery of grant expenditures.

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and fiscal practices.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply established financial policies, procedures, and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and standard office systems.
- Demonstrated ability to perform detailed fiscal work involving numerical data, including accurate arithmetic calculations and reconciliations.
- Experience reviewing, processing, and reconciling financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.
- Experience supporting grant-funded programs or performing grant-related financial processing (preferred).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience performing fiscal, accounting, or administrative support work

- Coursework or training in accounting, business, or a related field.
- Experience applying fiscal policies and procedures in a public-sector or higher education environment.
- Experience working with automated financial systems.
- Experience with fixed asset or inventory tracking systems.
