The Grant Writer, Corporate/Foundation Giving and Public Support is responsible for working with administrators, clinicians and other key allies to develop and build relationships with foundations, corporations and government agencies to solicit major gifts for key strategic areas on behalf of Corewell Health. This position is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding prospects. The Grant Writer, Corporate/Foundation Giving and Public Support is responsible for writing grants to be submitted to potential funders.
Establish, build and sustain relationships with Foundations, Corporations, individuals and government agencies as assigned by the AVP, Corporate/Foundation Giving.
Enhance relationships with individuals and allies for identification, cultivation and solicitation of donors and identify fundable causes. Track such moves management as part of the prospect management process.

Granter Writer will maintain and manage relationships with approximately 50-100 prospective donors at one time.
Achieve established targets specific to, but not limited to the following: funds raised (written and secured), new proposals written, moves made, number of donor visits and new prospects visited.
Solicit and obtain major gifts from foundations, corporations, individuals and government agencies in support of Corewell Health’s programs and facilities.
Project major gift results as part of an annual planning process and monitor progress toward those results.
Supervises research of funding sources, writes proposals, letters and reports to solicit funding and meets requirements of grants and major gifts and departmental reporting requirements.
Conducts appropriate stewardship activities with donor and prospects as assigned and per annual plan.
Coordinate grant processing, maintaining contact with Community Health and appropriate medical staff with grant and major gift opportunities. Supervise maintenance of potential, current and expired “grant” files.
Maintain statistical reports and analyses relating to overall grant and major gift objectives as part of the Foundation’s annual planning process.
Conducts grant research by identifying foundations, corporations, individuals and government agencies capable of significant philanthropic support of Corewell Health and work with colleagues to qualify those individuals and rank them in priority order.
Perform additional duties as designated by management staff or the President.
Responsible for professional advancement of self and others including acting as a role model, networking, mentoring of staff and community involvement.
