SCOPE:

The Grant and Program Strategist researches, writes, and manages grant proposals and compliance while building strong partnerships with community organizations. This position oversees and coordinates volunteer opportunities. The Grant and Program Strategist develops and manages Memoranda of Understanding and contracts that enhance community programs and resident services.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Reports directly to the Director of Resident Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Grant and Program Strategist will work 40 hours per week. Additional hours, evenings, and some weekends may occur occasionally.

Research, write, and submit grant proposals to support resident services, community programs, and organizational initiatives. Manage grant reporting and compliance requirements to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to funder expectations.

Lead fundraising efforts, including donor outreach, special initiatives, and community giving campaigns.

Build and maintain strong partnerships, which may include volunteer opportunities with community agencies, nonprofits, educational institutions, and service providers. Maintain communication and assistance with partner and volunteer expectations.

Develop, evaluate, negotiate, and execute Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) and contracts that support community-based initiatives and resident services.

Performs other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or may substitute four years of relevant work experience for the required degree. Ability to maintain effe ctiveworking relationships with others and to deal tactfully with residents and the public. Grant writing or fund-raising experience, including preparing competitive funding requests is required. Knowledge of both formal and informal criteria utilized for funding applications and proposals, as well as experience in community organizing. Ability to engage and build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and work with discretion. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Must be available for nonstandard work hours. Possess strong human relations, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to retain proprietary information confidentially. Ability to comply with Authority attendance policies. Routine travel between properties and to community partner locations is expected. Reliable transportation and possession of a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License is required. Experience working in affordable housing or community-based settings is preferred.

PHYSICAL

Ability to read and maintain vehicle and activity logs. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing, in person, and on the telephone. Physical range of motion and coordination for extensive work with files. All physical requirements are evaluated based on the ability to perform, with or without reasonable accommodations under the ADA.

The Oklahoma City Housing Authority (OCHA) exists to fulfill its mission of providing affordable, decent, safe and sanitary housing or housing assistance with quality environments and opportunities to low or fixed income residents of Oklahoma City.

OCHA has several housing programs that assist in fulfilling our mission. OCHA owns and operates 2,920 Public Housing Apartments that are directly subsidized by HUD. In addition to the Public Housing Program, OCHA administers the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program which is also funded by HUD. Our Housing Choice Voucher Program provides 4,696 vouchers used by low-income families to cover a portion of the monthly rent for privately owned apartments or homes. In total, OCHA provides 7,616 units of low-income assisted housing in all areas of Oklahoma City.
