Birmingham Public Schools is seeking two grant-funded Social Workers for the 2026-27 school year.
The District Social Workers will support Birmingham Public Schools' continued development of a comprehensive and inclusive system of student support that integrates mental health, social-emotional wellness, and behavioral health within the district's MTSS framework. The position is intended to increase students' access to prevention, early intervention, and responsive social, emotional, behavioral and mental health services and to strengthen coordination among students, families, schools, and community providers.
Because this is a district-level position, the social worker may serve students in multiple schools and at multiple grade levels. The social worker supports the behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health needs of all students across inclusive educational settings. Assignments will be determined based on student needs, district priorities, data, and areas of greatest need and may change over time.
