We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Manager to manage a portfolio of projects with a US Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) associated with the loan application, operations, and compliance efforts. The ideal candidate will support the DOE Loan Portfolio Project Manager Lead, the Grant Compliance Manager and the EDF Contract Manager in various project management and portfolio management activities for transmission and generation-related projects.

This role involves the coordination of various tasks and responsibilities, the management of project timelines, and the diligent tracking of progress to ensure that all activities related to loan applications, project eligibility reviews and compliance are completed on schedule. The Project Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the workflow, working closely with project teams, monitoring milestones, conducting follow-ups with team members, and ensuring that each task is executed within the agreed-upon timelines.

By maintaining a clear focus on deadlines and deliverables, the Project Manager will assist in the facilitation of a seamless submission process, ultimately contributing to the successful acquisition of federal funding. This involves not only ensuring that all necessary documentation is prepared and submitted accurately but also fostering communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders.

Additionally, the Project Manager will implement best practices in project management to streamline operations, mitigate potential risks, and adapt to any challenges that may arise during the application process. Through proactive engagement and effective resource management, this role will be pivotal in driving the overall success of loan applications, reinforcing our commitment to meeting federal guidelines and achieving organizational goals.

The project manager will be responsible for coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the transmission project portfolio progresses in alignment with DOE expectations, internal schedules, and compliance requirements.

What You'll Do:

Project Coordination:

Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of federal loan application and compliance tasks, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and agreed upon timelines.

EDF Loan Compliance (Transmission and Generation Portfolios):

Manage the compliance requirements for the assigned transmission and generation project portfolio under the EDF loan, ensuring all documentation, approvals, and reporting align with DOE expectations and internal processes.

Documentation Management:

Collaborate with the environmental SME’s to gather, organize, and maintain all necessary documentation for project submittal and approval into loan, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Timeline Management:

Develop and maintain project timelines, tracking milestones and deliverables to ensure timely submission of projects for DOE eligibility review.

Stakeholder Communication:

Facilitate communication among project stakeholders, including internal teams and external partners, to ensure that all parties are informed and engaged throughout the application process.

Risk Management:

Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to address challenges that may arise during the application processes.

Reporting:

Prepare regular updates and reports on project status, highlighting any issues or delays and proposing solutions to keep the project on track.

Support Grant Compliance Manager:

Provide administrative and project support to the Grant Compliance Manager in preparing and executing EDF Loan compliance documents.

Support EDF Contract Manager:

Provide administrative and project support to the Federal Loan Manager in preparing and submitting Federal Loan applications.

Communication with EDF:

Cultivate working relationships with the EDF lead team and communicate regularly on project matters to ensure loan compliance.

What We're Looking For:

  • Education Bachelor's degree in Technology, Management, Business or Engineering or Associate’s degree in same disciplines.
  • Experience With a Bachelor’s degree, nine (9) years of grant writing, project management, or business development experience; OR, With an Associate’s degree and eleven (11) years of related experience mentioned above.
  • PMP is desired.
  • Minimum of 3 years of project management experience, preferably in electric utility transmission and/or in grant writing, federal funding application development, or federal award compliance.

Other Must Haves:

  • Familiarity with transmission and generation‑related functions, terminology, and workflows in an electric utility setting or related construction fields.
  • Familiarity with federal loan application and compliance processes, as well as relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn new things and take action quickly.

Where You'll Work:

  • This is an On-Site role based out of Columbus, OH.

Compensation Range:

$87,633.00 - $151,132.50
