The Maine Community College System (MCCS) is looking to fill a full-time Grant Administrator. This position will work closely with the MCCS Chief Workforce Officer and the MCCS HAF Center Leads Team on grants and grant opportunities for MCCS Harold Alfond Center for the Advancement of Maine’s Workforce. This position will be responsible for ensuring compliance with grant guidelines, including state, federal, and private philanthropic grants. This position will be responsible for managing grant functions and reporting and tracking. This position is grant-funded through June 30, 2030.
The Grant Administrator position is classified as a level 4 in the MEA Administrators Bargaining Unit. Dependent on experience and qualifications, the position expects to pay in the vicinity of $67,000. The required minimum qualifications include an associate’s degree and 10+ years of extensive experience of an administrative nature in business, grant administration, preferably in higher education. Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
The required knowledge, skills, and abilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, group facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of and proven experience with educational environments, school and college cultures, and adult education.
- Proven project management ability and experience.
- Sales management and marketing experience.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, electronic communications, and social media, are essential and would ideally include Anthology, Lumens, and other SIS experience.
- Ability to interpret and process policies and procedures, experience with strategic planning and grant program management.
- Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize, meet deadlines, and follow up on assignments with minimum direction.
- Demonstrated experience with grant writing, administration, management reporting, resource management and budgeting, and online grant management portals and other government and non-government grant management systems.
