Job Description

Position Summary
The Pool Attendant provides attentive, guest-focused service in a resort-style outdoor environment. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-stocked pool area while assisting guests with seating, amenities, and recreational equipment. The Pool Attendant enhances the overall guest experience by anticipating needs, ensuring comfort, and supporting poolside food and beverage service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Guest Service & Poolside Support
• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide orientation to pool and recreation areas
• Assist guests with lounge chairs, umbrellas, towels, cabanas, daybeds, and other amenities
• Answer guest questions regarding property amenities and services
• Anticipate guest needs and provide prompt, courteous, and professional service
Pool Area Setup & Maintenance
• Maintain cleanliness of pool decks, lounge areas, cabanas, and equipment
• Clean, sanitize, and reset chairs, tables, and equipment between guest use
• Stock towels, linens, and amenities throughout pool and service areas
• Maintain clean, organized storage and linen areas
• Dispose of trash and soiled linens in accordance with company procedures
Food & Beverage Support
• Deliver food and beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner
• Ensure all orders meet presentation standards and guest specifications
• Work closely with Pool Servers and kitchen staff to support efficient service
Safety & Compliance
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE
• Maintain awareness of pool safety and wet surface hazards
• Comply with health, sanitation, and HAZMAT standards
• Report unsafe conditions, maintenance issues, or incidents immediately
Guest Relations & Issue Resolution
• Address guest concerns within scope of authority; escalate when necessary
• Report unusual incidents, missing items, or disruptive behavior to management or Security
Attendance
• Maintain reliable and punctual attendance in accordance with scheduling requirements
Additional Responsibilities
• Retrieve, stock, and organize pool and recreation supplies
• Clean assigned areas, including corridors and service spaces
• Notify management of unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or accidents
• Support team members and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Previous experience in a pool, recreation, or hospitality environment preferred
• Strong guest service and interpersonal skills
• Professional demeanor with a positive, team-oriented attitude
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, outdoor environment
• Basic math and problem-solving skills
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
• Ability to read, speak, and understand basic English
Requirements
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions
• Must maintain professional appearance and grooming standards
• Food Handler’s Card and/or Responsible Beverage Service certification may be required (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
• Prolonged standing and walking in indoor and outdoor environments
• Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling (up to 50 lbs occasionally)
• Reaching, bending, stooping, and crouching regularly
• Exposure to sun, heat, humidity, and varying weather conditions
• Working on wet and potentially slippery surfaces
• Exposure to noise, cleaning chemicals, and moving equipment
