Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide personal training to those members who purchase additional services
• Provide excellent customer service to the community by seeing that all customers, clients and members are given prompt and courteous services
• Build relationships with a variety of members and assist them helping them meet their fitness and wellness goals
• Provide orientation for new members
• Perform fitness assessments
• Provide follow-up to personal training customers when appropriate
• Teach a variety of classes based on experience and specialties
• Communicate effectively with participants, staff and supervisors regarding concerns, schedules, and feedback
• Implement safety measures for personal training service to ensure the health and safety of members
• Assist members during workouts with proper use of equipment, proper form and safety guidelines
• Ensure that the fitness area is always presentable by assisting with cleaning and maintenance
• Report on all equipment, fitness and gym area problems to the Health and Wellness Manager
• Enforce all rules that pertain to the fitness and exercise areas consistently
• Adhere to RJKCCC operations as well as all policy procedures as adopted by the Administration
• Provide supervision when the Health and Wellness Manager is not on site
• Must work at least 2 shifts per week
• Perform other duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency with a degree in fitness, exercise science, athletic training, physical therapy, exercise physiology or other related areas is preferred
• Prior personal training experience is preferred
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must have personal training certification by a national accredited organization such as ACSM, NSCA, ACE or AFAA
• Able to design high-quality, up-to-date, scientifically sound, safe and effective fitness programs for a variety of member goals and needs

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

• Be able to lift and carry 40 lbs.
• Be able to read, write and communicate in English with the preferred ability to also communicate in Spanish
• Able to function effectively with minimal or no supervision
• Maintain strict confidentiality

Computer Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
• Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint

Certificates and Licenses:

• Have CPR/AED/First Aid certification or obtain within 45 days.
• Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current asneeded
