Job Description

Position Objective: The Grain Operations Manager is responsible for the overall operation of a grain elevator. They must have a strong understanding of grain handling and storage, as well as the ability to manage a team of employees. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and results-oriented individual with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the grain elevator or processing facility.
• Manage the staff and ensure that they are properly trained and equipped.
• Monitor grain quality and ensure that it meets all standards.
• Inspect grain bins and equipment to prevent damage or loss.
• Comply with all applicable regulations.
• Stay up to date on the latest technologies and practices in the grain industry.
• Loading trains in an efficient manner to keep us from getting charged demerge.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in the grain industry.
• Strong understanding of grain handling and storage.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Safety conscious.

Safety

• Work with Safety & Risk Coordinator and administer all established safety programs.
• Responsible for following regulatory issues that pertain to your location.
• Make Safety a part of our everyday procedures.
• Nothing we do at Centerra is worth getting hurt over.
• Maintain the highest level of housekeeping which will improve your employee safety and reduce your risk of fire or explosions.

Other Duties: The operations manager will perform other duties as assigned by the Area Operations Manager.

• Perform duties as requested by management.
• Be willing to help at other locations or for other business units.
• Maintain the highest level of housekeeping, clutter reduction, and organization to improve appearance of the facility which will promote Centerra's integrity and reputation.

Centerra will provide a laptop and other tools necessary to perform their job.
