About the Program

The ISSC Graduate Trainee Program is a structured 6-month, full-time program for recent graduates. Trainees rotate through nine ISSC departments – SAPS, Procurement, Group Operations, Vessel Accounts, Vessel IT, Galley Masters, Technical, Digital Solutions and Agency Hub – and complete a capstone project. Strong performers are considered for permanent roles at the end of the program.

Key Terms

• Location: ISSC, Navi Mumbai. On-site, 5 days a week. No remote or hybrid option.
• Relocation & Accommodation: Not provided. Candidates from outside Mumbai must arrange their own stay.
• Duration: 6 months, starting February 2027. Full-time availability from day one is required.
• Seats: 7 – 3 for technical degrees and 4 for commerce / management degrees (see Eligibility).
• Permanent Roles: Offered based on performance during the program and availability of a vacancy. Conversion is not guaranteed.

Program Structure

• Department Rotations: Trainees complete a fixed rotation plan across all nine departments, with a defined set of tasks in each department.
• Guidance: A Programme Manager oversees the program, a Programme Mentor supports each trainee, and a Functional Guide leads each department rotation.
• Capstone Project: Each trainee delivers one project with a measurable output and presents it to senior leadership at the end of the program.
• Reviews: Weekly reports, a score at the end of each rotation, a mid-point review, and a final presentation.

What You'll Work On

• Procurement: Processing purchase orders, maintaining vendor records, and resolving order and documentation issues for fleet and shore requirements.
• Vessel Accounts: Processing vessel expenses, checking invoices, and supporting monthly reporting.
• Group Operations: Tracking and coordination for fleet operations, and preparing operational data and reports.
• Agency Hub: Checking port agency costs, including proforma and final disbursement accounts (PDA/FDA), and clearing backlog items.
• Vessel IT: Logging tickets, handling user access requests, and maintaining IT documentation for ship and shore users.
• Digital Solutions: Supporting automation, Power BI dashboards and data clean-up for internal tools.
• Galley Masters: Maintaining catering and provisions data and supply records for vessels.
• Technical: Supporting ship records, certificates and inspection data.
• SAPS: Data validation, report generation and environmental compliance support.

Requirements

• Technical degrees (3 seats): BCA, B.Sc IT, B.Sc Computer Science, B.E. / B.Tech. Postgraduates eligible: MCA, M.Sc IT / Computer Science / Data Analytics, M.Tech.
• Commerce / Management degrees (4 seats): B.Com, BMS, BBA, B.Sc Nautical Science / Maritime Studies. Postgraduates eligible: M.Com, MBA.
• Postgraduates: Eligible, provided the bachelor’s degree is also from the lists above.
• Year of Passing: Final degree completed in 2026. Results must be declared, with no pending backlogs, before the start date.
• Minimum Score: No minimum percentage required.
• Work Experience: 0–12 months. Internships are acceptable.
• Availability: Able to report on-site in Navi Mumbai from the start date for the full 6 months.
• Excel: Working knowledge of formulas, lookups, pivots and data validation.
• Accuracy & Follow-through: Handles repetitive data work carefully, tracks actions and meets deadlines.
• Written & Spoken English: Writes clear emails and short reports; communicates confidently with teams across time zones.
• Conduct: Punctual, maintains confidentiality and follows company policies.
• Advantage (not required): Power BI, basic automation or scripting, AI tools, or a maritime / logistics background.
