About the role

The Technology Development department comprises of diverse groups of curious, world class engineering specialists. We are experts in our fields, and we ensure Dyson products are on the edge of what’s possible. The department encompasses several groups – Product Performance, Acoustics, Technology Systems and Product Integration. This role resides within the Technology Systems group, which provides technical leadership in the fields of Fluid Dynamics, Analytical Modelling and Thermodynamics.

1. Collaborate with a project team to deliver thermal and fluids subsystems that enable product level performance.

  • Contribute and deliver high quality computational fluid dynamics and thermal models to guide the development team for streamlined design iterations.

  • Deliver project with clear fluid and thermal requirements that is aligned for the product vision and claims.

  • Verify fluids and thermal performance with established test methodologies, and development of new test methods to confirm product function and thermal protection.

  • Contribute to fluid and thermodynamics disciplines for your assigned project, ensuring its successful execution from start to finish.

  • Regularly update the project delivery team of key progress updates, risks, and work collaboratively to define and implement engineering solutions.

2. Proactively assess risk and solve problems impacting thermal and fluids subsystem performance.

  • Identify, characterize, and highlight risk in a clear and concise manner.

  • Formulate a good problem statement before devoting time to solving a problem.

  • Assess the lower-level requirements and component level parameters that affect fluids and thermal subsystems.

  • Be a key contributor in assessment of performance trade-off as required.

3. Take ownership of career development and aim for deeper understanding of fluids and thermal systems, including tools and new technologies.

  • Develop technical competencies by active involvement in projects, self-learning, and training.

  • Be a contributing team member in helping the organization drive technical excellence and capability growth.

4. Actively challenge status quo and support improvement initiatives in various aspects of business. Identify and develop new opportunities/tools/methods with the aim of enhancing performance, reliability, and time to market Dyson products.

  • Ensure work is well documented and in a state that can be referenced by all for future use.

About you

  • Graduating by August 2026.

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical or Mechatronics.

  • Applicants with related experience in products involving thermodynamics. Fresh graduates with excellent academic results and related projects are also welcome.

  • Some background knowledge on computational fluid dynamics, and ANSYS Fluent or similar software experience would be beneficial.

  • Analytical skills, ability to define problem statements, and deconstruct complex problems into manageable chunks.

  • To be eligible, you will need to have no more than two years of relevant work experience post-graduation (PhD students are not eligible for our graduate program)

  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Ability to receive constructive feedback and coaching and respond appropriately.

  • Able to communicate ideas and concepts clearly

  • Able to work well in a team

  • Generally characterized as a "Task completer"

  • Requires decreasing amount of task oversight and review during time in position
