The Role

We are looking for a proactive Graduate Technician who will support the Service Technician in performing general mechanical and electrical maintenance, inspections, and repair work on the customer fleet within the Sales Area.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in performing electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks to ensure equipment integrity.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment by participating in Job Safety Analysis (JSA), adhering to engineering and facility standards, and following established work practices.
  • Conduct fault-finding and repairs using hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Provide feedback to support efficient maintenance planning and equipment reliability.
  • Work towards achieving defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Assist in diagnosing system and equipment malfunctions to identify causes of breakdowns.
  • Support efforts to minimize equipment downtime through effective preventive maintenance.
  • Comply with all SMRT policies and procedures, particularly those related to Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ).

Qualification & Competencies

  • HND or BSc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a related field), with at least 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • Familiarity with Surface Drills (DP and DI) is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all organizational levels.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license (preferably Class B) and the ability to drive.
