Job Description

The Graduate Student Tutor supports students in graduate, medical education to build a strong academic foundation through structured peer tutoring sessions. The Tutor reinforces key course concepts, models effective learning strategies, and promotes a collaborative and supportive learning environment.

Job Responsibilities

1. Facilitates group tutoring sessions focused on more difficult content in foundational courses.
2. Supports students by reviewing material, clarifying complex topics, and encouraging active learning strategies.
3. Serves as a positive academic role model and offer encouragement to peers navigating the challenges of graduate school.
4. Maintains accurate records of tutoring sessions, including attendance and session focus.
5. Participates in required tutor training and professional development opportunities.
6. Collaborates with program administrators and faculty to ensure tutoring aligns with course content and student needs.
7. Performs other accountabilities as assigned or directed.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge/Education

Experience

Licensure, Registration, Certification

Bachelor’s Degree

One (1) year of applicable graduate level coursework.

Must be an active student in good standing.

Must be approved to tutor by either Program Director or Course Director.
