Job Description

DomeShelter Australia is looking for a Structural Engineer to join our Engineering Team. This isn't a role where you will spend your first two years doing repetitive calculations in the background. Working directly with our Head of Engineering, you will gain hands-on exposure to the complete structural engineering process - from concept development and structural analysis through to detailed design, documentation, certification, fabrication, and construction.

THE ROLE

You will progressively become involved in:

• Structural analysis and design of steel-framed fabric-clad structures
• Wind loading and application of Australian standards
• Structural steel, connection, foundations, and anchorage design
• Preparation of engineering calculations and technical reports
• Review of structural drawings and 3D models
• Engineering input into major and complex projects
• Technical support to our estimating, project, and construction teams
• Development of standard engineering solutions, design tools, and technical documentation
• Use of modern digital and AI-assisted tools to improve engineering workflows

You won't be expected to know all of this on day one. We are looking for someone with strong engineering fundamentals, curiosity, and a desire to become a capable, practical structural engineer.

ABOUT YOU

You will have recently completed, or be close to completing, a recognised degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

More importantly, you will:

Experience with structural analysis software, SpaceGass, Excel, CAS/3D modelling and Australian structural design standards is essential. You will need to be registered with Engineers Australia and serious about embarking on your professional pathway.
