Graduate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Officer

Location: Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork

MSL Engineering Ltd is seeking a Graduate Health, Safety & Environmental Officer to join our growing team in Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork. This role is ideal for a motivated graduate who is keen to build a long-term career in Health & Safety and Environmental management within a fast-paced engineering and construction environment.

The successful candidate will be fully supported and trained by MSL Engineering, including structured development toward key management systems and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of MSL’s Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) management systems
• Support site teams in ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation, safe systems of work, and company procedures
• Assist with risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), inspections, audits, and incident investigations
• Promote a positive safety culture across projects and offices
• Support environmental management initiatives and compliance requirements
• Liaise with project managers, supervisors, and external stakeholders as required
• Maintain accurate HSE documentation and records

Training & Development

MSL Engineering Ltd is committed to developing talent and will provide full training and mentoring, including exposure to:

• ISO 45001 – Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems
• ISO 14001 – Environmental Management Systems
• Practical site-based experience across live mechanical engineering projects

Requirements

• Degree in Environmental Science OR

• Diploma / Degree in Safety, Health & Welfare at Work, or other recognised equivalent
• Strong interest in building a career in Health, Safety and Environmental management
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Motivated, proactive, and eager to learn
• Ability to work well as part of a team

Desirable

• Placement or internship experience in HSE or construction/engineering (not essential)
• Basic knowledge of Irish H&S and environmental legislation
