About the position

We are seeking recently Graduated or Graduand (soon to graduate) Registered Nurses to join the North Metro/Mitchell Local Health Service Network (LHSN) Shared Metro-Regional Graduate Nurse Program commencing in February 2027. There are two positions available at 32 hours per week (0.84 FTE) for 52-week Fixed Term appointments.

Shared rotations will occur between:

Austin Health (6 months) and Seymour Health (6 months)

Along with a professional attitude and a commitment to help Seymour, Northern and Austin Health achieve its vision and values, the successful applicant must have:

  • Satisfactory National Criminal Records Check (a 'Police Check')
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Appropriate Vaccinations
  • Ability to be registered with AHPRA by the 2027 commencement date
  • Ability to be enrolled in the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) Graduate Nursing and Midwifery Program match process

  • A cover letter outlining why you have chosen to apply for the LHSN Combined Graduate Nurse Program
  • A copy of the formative and summative assessments from your two most recent clinical placements, and
  • A copy of your official academic transcript

All employment with North Metro/Mitchell LHSN is subject to and conditional upon a satisfactory Worker Screening Checks, which include: a Police Records Check; Victorian Employee Working with Children Check; and NDIS Worker Screening Check.

All employees must comply with the Health Service's Vaccination requirements and Victorian Government and Department of Health immunisation directives. This requires all employees to be vaccinated and provided evidence of vaccination for various diseases, such as Influenza.
