Who are we looking for?

GHD is seeking a Graduate Quality Assurance Inspector - Water/Wastewater to join our Construction Phase Services team and support the delivery of engineering consulting services for major transportation infrastructure projects across Ontario. This position can be based in our Toronto, Markham, or Mississauga office.

A new grad that carries out defined field tasks and assists with data collection for construction delivery. Supports effective workflows by following instructions, documenting observations, and maintaining accuracy. Applies GHD procedures and basic digital tools to support consistent field practices. Builds foundational experience and prepares for more complex field assignments.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Equipment Installation: Carry out standard installation activities under detailed guidance. Troubleshoot basic technical or operational problems by applying previously defined solutions.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Repair : Carry out standard maintenance and repair activities under detailed guidance. Troubleshoot basic technical or operational problems by applying previously defined solutions.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow a range of mandatory procedures and methods of work (including use of personal protection equipment where relevant) to safeguard the environment and the well-being of self and others.
  • Internal Communications: Support in using the internal communications system to access specific information on request.
  • Operating Machine or Equipment: Operate complex equipment and machines, adjusting diverse variables to achieve the best possible outcomes in terms of quality and productivity. Also responsible for generating solutions to simple and recurring inefficiencies.
  • Operational Compliance: Develop working knowledge of the organization's policies and procedures and of regulatory codes and codes of conduct relevant to own work, adhering to mandatory procedures to ensure own work is undertaken to the required standards.
  • Operations Management: Carry out operational tasks by following established processes. This will involve adjusting multiple settings or parameters to meet performance standards.
  • Personal Capability Building: Develop and maintain excellent procedural or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
  • Quality Assurance: Carry out relatively simple testing and quality assurance tasks.
  • Work Scheduling and Allocation: Organize own work schedule each day in line with changing priorities.

What you will bring to the Team

Education

  • Completion of Civil Engineering Technician or Technologist diploma, or completion of Civil Engineering degree.

Experience

  • General Experience: 0-2 years of experience in related field.
  • Past experience in construction field work is considered an asset;
  • Valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s licence;
  • Team player, cooperative with other staff with open sharing of information and knowledge.
