In this role, you’ll support the Pricing Manager with the maintenance and smooth running of our pricing models, in particular our tender tools and cost inputs as we enter the corporate market. You’ll help ensure that our corporate pricing remains accurate, competitive and compliant across all products. You’ll be involved in preparing and checking pricing outputs, updating datasets and carrying out regular data validation. We’re after someone naturally analytical, highly organised and comfortable working with detail on a daily basis.
If you enjoy problem‑solving, managing data, and playing a key role in the efficient delivery of corporate tenders and pricing tasks, this is a fantastic opportunity to grow within a fast‑paced industry and contribute directly to Valda’s ongoing success.
Key day-to-day responsibilities will involve:
Preparing and maintaining pricing outputs for corporate tenders, ensuring all documents, calculations and supporting information are accurate, complete and aligned with internal controls
Updating and checking pricing models, price-books and tender templates to ensure the latest cost assumptions and tariffs are correctly applied across electricity and gas
Carrying out data validation and robust checks, including cleansing portfolio data, updating inputs, and ensuring pricing files remain consistent and correct
Logging and tracking tender requests, customer data, contract information and pricing decisions so that the commercial team has a clear and accurate audit trail
Ensuring that pricing for all products remains competitive and correctly structured throughout the life of corporate contracts
Staying on top of changes to cost components (i.e. wholesale and non‑commodity/policy charges) and updating internal systems/processes so the latest values feed correctly into pricing
Assisting the Pricing Manager in reviewing historical cost assumptions and actuals against the portfolio, including routine reconciliation work to make sure inputs remain correct
Providing the Pricing Manager with regular updates on tender volumes, data amendments and model changes
Proposing fresh ideas to improve accuracy and efficiency with pricing and tendering processes, seeking continuous improvement
Following best practice approaches to data integrity within the team and wider business, and dealing with customer data in a secure and appropriate manner
Degree educated (minimum 2:1 or equivalent); A-Level Maths (grade B or above) or similar (desirable)
Strong Excel skills, with exposure to SQL, Power BI, Fabric, R and/or Python (desirable)
Previous experience within utilities (desirable)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for data quality and integrity
Confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
Naturally inquisitive mindset with a proactive approach to learning and improvement
