The role covers the full software development lifecycle, from ideation and architecture to deployment and optimization, within a collaborative and supportive environment.

• Design, develop, and test resilient, stateless, scalable, and reusable services and APIs, primarily using Python for backend and data processing.
• Build highly responsive and intuitive user interfaces using React/Next.js, emphasizing design patterns, reusability, code quality, and secure coding practices.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, business analysts, and end-users to understand business needs, analyze problems, and propose innovative technical solutions that enhance functionality and user interaction.
• Architect and implement technical solutions that adhere to LGT's standards, deliver optimized client experience, and provide competitive advantage.
• Develop AI solutions (e.g., automation, chatbots, agent-based systems, MCP prototyping, RAG) and integrate them seamlessly with existing business systems to augment platform capabilities.
• Establish and maintain a robust shared data foundation, designing and optimizing databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL) and writing effective APIs as a platform.
• Automate and enhance CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and ArgoCD to ensure quality changes, system responsiveness, and deployment efficiency for global reach.
• Develop multi-region deployment solutions, proactively addressing geo-specific compliance requirements and localization challenges.
• Ensure data integrity and security by implementing industry’s best practices and LGT's security standards.
• Drive and contribute to test automation efforts, ensuring quality at every stage of the development lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade software, to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to build reusable, shared libraries and components.
• Write clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documentation.

Requirements

• Educational background: Completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Track record: Proficient in backend technologies like Java, Python, or similar OOP languages. Experienced in designing REST APIs and microservices. Familiar with containerisation (eg, Kubernetes, OpenShift) and cloud platforms (Asure, AWS).
• Technical skills: Strong knowledge of databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and SQL principles. Experience with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (eg Git). Understanding of security best practices in application development. Skilled in system integration and debugging complex architectures.
• Language skills: Fluent in both written and spoken English and the local language.
• Knowledge and Application: Delivers stable, secure backend or full stack features using established patterns and frameworks; actively contributes to technical discussions, code reviews, and improves team practices in sprints.
• Impact and Accountability: Consistently provides well-tested and maintainable increments, identifies improvement opportunities and supports team delivery/release goals.
• Job Autonomy: Works independently on standard items from the backlog, seeks alignment and guidance for novel, highly complex issues, fully participates in team agile ceremonies.
