Chemetics Inc. (Worley Group) is a diversified technology company that provides design and engineering solutions to the chloralkaline, sodium chlorate, chlorine dioxide, and sulphuric acid industries worldwide. It is a Company with a 60-year history in Vancouver with diverse cultures, talents, and highly skilled professionals. Chemetics operates a specialized alloy fabrication shop in Pickering, ON.


We are currently recruiting for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a Fixed Term positionbased at our fabrication facility in Pickering, ON Canada.


The candidate will support the welding control of an ASME Code welding facility and the development of Chemetics welding technology and support the Engineering Department as needed.


This new position will be tailored to candidates’ abilities. This role is entry level and training will be provided.


Welding processes used here are SMAW, GTAW, PAW, SAW, GMAW/MCAW/FCAW, LBW and DFW. Alloys fabricated include Austenitic stainless, Ni-based alloys, titanium, and other high performance alloys.


Responsibilities:

  • Set-up, witness, test, and execute weld tests as designed.

  • Prepare, revise, and maintain WPSs/PQRs and welding tickets.

  • Conduct metallography.

  • Control and develop advanced alloy filler metal inventory.

  • Maintain and set-up welding systems.

  • Monitor production and project specific concerns.

  • Preparation of weld maps, production drawings, and fabrication plans.

  • Maintain internal standards as directed.

Technical and Industry Experience:

  • Strong documentation skills required.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering relevant to welding.

For applicants based in the province of Ontario, the salary range is $67K to $79K CAD. Application of the pay band: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
