Graduate Materials Engineer

About the Role

· Support the delivery of Sustainability activities
· To assist in development of materials engineering solutions and documentation.
· Support the project delivery teams, providing technical support in materials engineering design, assurance and management
· Assist in the provision of materials testing services during project delivery
· Develop and maintain relationships with relevant materials engineering consultants and suppliers.
· Support the materials team in materials risk management, identifying and recording best practice and areas for improvement on contracts
· Maintain personal expertise and knowledge to ensure that BB is at the forefront of the industry both technically and in using the latest technologies and standards
· Assist where requested, audits of construction and materials including testing and ensure all meet project specifications and relevant standards
· Ensure procedures and quality systems are applied
· Mentor members of the team to deliver high performance and a culture of continuous improvement
Qualifications
· Degree educated
· Full UK driving License
Experience
· Good interpersonal/communication skills
· Ability to collect, manage and present data in a clear manner
· Knowledge of construction materials (Concrete, Grout, Earthworks, Aggregates, Asphalt)
· Desire for continuous improvement and development
· Quick learner
· Well organised
· Experience working within a laboratory environment or civil engineering project
